Aaron Shuman focuses his law practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, probate litigation, and guardianships/conservatorships. He is a member of the Greater Lansing Estate Planning Council (“GLEPC”); the Probate Section of the Ingham County Bar Association (“ICBA”); the Probate & Estate Planning Section of the State Bar of Michigan (“SBM”); and the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association (“ABA”). Aaron is a co-contributor for the book, Informal Estate Proceedings in Michigan, which is published by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (“ICLE”). In 2026, Aaron was named to the Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star list.
Aaron graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 2018 where he competed internationally with the Jessup International Moot Court Team, practiced law as a student attorney with Detroit’s Great Lakes Environmental Law Center, volunteered with a civil rights firm, and clerked for an insurance defense firm. Aaron has worked as an insurance defense litigator and a labor and employment lawyer. These unique experiences honed Aaron’s skills as an effective advocate for his clients.
Prior to law school Aaron earned his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Michigan State and was a member of the Michigan State Spartan Marching Band Drumline. He is an active member of the Eaton Rapids Rotary Club and a resident of Eaton Rapids. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys hiking, kayaking, gardening, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and their two dogs.
